30 second puzzle today.
What case are you using? I’ve got a LianLi Lancool 216. It’s a little loud but it runs just fine for me.

I love solving these puzzles with a completely wrong category in mind.
E-readers do a good job of bridging the physical book feel with technology. I was of the same thought that a phone would be enough until I held a Kindle in my hands. The first thing that popped out to me was that the screen was super close to a real book. I doesn’t have that electronic screen look so it’s much easier on the eyes. And you can change the color temp to make it even easier. It’s also not silky smooth like a phone screen. There is a tiny bit of texture that makes it feel closer to paper. It’s subtle but noticeable.
The second thing I noticed was that it was slightly bigger than the special edition colored paperback version of Game of Thrones I was reading at the time. The size being slightly bigger as one of the most comfortable books I’ve ever held in my life did change my perspective on e-readers being a viable replacement. Get a folding case that looks like a book and the fact that you’re holding a Kindle disappears once you get used to it.
E-books don’t take up that much space either. My whole collection is just over 1.5GB. Like 215 books in various formats. That might be nothing to someone who reads a billion books a year, but that’s not me. My Kindle has 16gb of storage. Other models have much more and I feel like I would never fill it. I’m not gonna waste space on my phone for something I’m never gonna use it for.
I’m not tempted to stop reading halfway through a page to check social media when I’m holding my Kindle. I never needed to jailbreak my Kindle to put my own collection of books on it. I don’t know if I’m lucky or if Calibre on Linux is just that good. Get one. Use it to read a short book. If it clicks you won’t go back.
The racoon looks like it said, ‘Yo Gary, chill,’ all concerned and shit.
I used to want tattoos. Thought I’d be covered from head to toe. Then my brothers started getting tattoos and I realized two things.
Good tattoos are really expensive. I’m not talking about full sleeves or back pieces. I mean sticker sized hand or arm pieces are even expensive. You want color? Price goes up. You want something that will look good in five years? Price goes up. You want anything that’s a challenge or creative for the artist to do? The price goes up. Sure you can get cheap little tattoos for $100, but then its a shit tattoo that someone with little experience or a drug habit has to do. (My brothers used to throw tattoo parties for a local junkie to make $50 to $100 a pop off of underaged kids. That dude would make a killing.)
Most tattoo ideas are not original or good. Both my brothers got full arms of junk that’s all meaningless platitudes and shitty sticker tattoos. Oh you got a skull. A flower. Some filigree to surround your tramp stamp. Even my own idea which was a snake wrapped around a guitar would have looked like shit after a while.
All this is coming from a tattoo fan. I’ve seen a lot of good work. A lot of cool art. That’s rare. That requires a lot of money, and an excellent artist. Those shops are so few and far between. You have to hope the artist has an opening. You have to have a minimum $1000 for anything with thought and color. After a while I just gave up the idea of getting one and decided to appreciate them from afar.
Oh no. I’m joking about Mayor Parker of Philly. I made a bad joke.
I just want a mayor that wants to do the job and can spell the football team’s name. Is that too much to ask?

A good meal and hiding with my dog.

df -h for a bit of existential dread.
If my day ever goes so south that I’m thrown off a roof, get three strikes on one swing and a miss, and get choked out all in the span of 30 seconds, just send my soul to hell.
Most - SimCity 4. I don’t remember buying the CD but countless hours later I can say it was worth it.
Least is really hard. Like you have to really really fuck up a game for me to not like it. Three come to mind. Cities Skylines 2. Mortal Kombat 1. Starfield. Both games coming after two of my all time faves. I spent 500+ hours in CS1. If you can’t tell city builders are my jam. So for me to actively despise a city builder is pretty condemning of the quality of the game. That’s my problem with Skylines 2.
MK1 I powered through the story and had no desire to play any other part of it. It was a buggy incomplete mess. The roster was a step back from MK11 IMO. The game play was supposed to address the main complaints of how slow and limited MK11 was. They did that by adding a gimmick instead of going back to the MKX formula. MK1 is just a failed mess of a game.
I would have forgot about Starfield if not for seeing it in my Steam library just now. Mechanically this game fucking blows. I really hate some of the design decisions they made in the game. Like oxygen frequently stopping you from sprinting early game. The menu designs. Space flight. It’s all so baffling to me. They really fumbled the ball.
Mastodon is pretty cool, it’s just that I like the community I’ve gathered together on BSKY more. It really is a case of you go where the people are and BSKY feels more alive comparatively. My Mastodon feed feels like a news feed of reposted paper articles. BSKY feels like real people.
