This perch in Prospect Park, Reading, UK, is often contested. The magpie one this round, struck a victory pose, flew off and the kite was back again a few minutes later.

I turned the grow lights on early this year to grow some potatoes, which I’m sure is a totally a great use of energy. I’m really hoping to grow another round of starts after not having a very good year this year due to keeping our potatos in smaller pots and us not getting a ton of rain. Next year I’ll put them in a much larger planter.

Anyway to clean/salvage this kitchen sink? I’m not sure if it’s chipped paint or something but I’ve scrubbed it pretty good and it hasn’t budged

Just recently starting growing microgreens. I had 2 trays that turned out excellent. My last tray and now this current one are doing as shown.

Spent a few hours digging through my tub of pieces and managed to find almost all the right parts for this set. Some adjustments were necessary to accommodate replacement parts and there is some recoloring going on, but I think it just makes it look battle-worn.

I grinned and pointed out that this was my favourite word, to which my partner mentioned that in Italian, it’s referred to as “La Radio”, which made us both wonder where it actually came from, did the Italian language import the word, or export it, given that Guglielmo Marconi was Italian?

I bought a Stoeger A30 .177 495fps from Canadian Tire because it seemed decent for the price and had a 3-9x40 scope. I’ve run about 150 pellets through it now, and I’m just confused by the spread.

I always hope to catch goldfinches feasting on thistledown, quite close, under a late summer sun. No such luck this year. Instead, it seems, goldfinches at the top of tall ash(?) trees, at quite a distance, in an autumn’s grey sky. Oh well.
