This is the entrance to the "wild" part of our garden. I'm lucky to have access to woodland close by that the council haven't maintained, so there were lots of branches from past storms this winter. The plan is to grow honeysuckle either side and hope it covers most of it, providing food and shelter along with the hedgerow I've planted on the left behind the ladder. The pond I posted earlier last year is made out of an old water tank someone was throwing out.

I’ve been trying to fix a whistle from a pair of aerodynamic (plane wing shape) cross bars for almost a month now. I tried the rope wrap, taped up all the holes, different positions and nothing worked. Finally I got the idea of putting a strip of fuzzy weather stripping along the bottom edge to brush the air below before meeting the air above the bar. Turns out it works really well! There’s still a very subtle whistle, but it’s amazing how well it works and for how cheap it is. Hope it’ll last. Good luck!

Hey everyone! I'm a huge fan of Hoyas, and I’ve been growing them for a while. I feel like I know a bit, but there’s always more to learn! Recently, I’ve been especially fascinated by Hoya Kerrii and its care needs.

Shared a while ago I thought I blew my transmission on the track. Turns out it was the coupler connecting the drive shaft to the transaxle. Fixed that with upgraded billet aluminum connectors. Also put in a racing clutch and new output shaft.

The checklist with all time high counts for *six species* is absolutely nuts!

Was able to get the binoculars hooked up to my phone before it took off. Nice natural lighting, and I'm getting better at balancing the phones focus and the binoculars. Didn't have to doctor this one much, just a tweak of added sharpness and a little warmer on the lighting. Really happy with this one!

This lone Grackle has been coming around about everyday for a month. I thought that they always traveled in herds.

Just got and planted my Christmas gift from work yesterday. A dwarf pear tree, can't wait for spring to plant lavender, rosemary, strawberry and other flowers around it. But the rest of the garden is still a bit messy

Recently I built a first attempt at a noise cancelling circuit, on my couch, in GNU Radio, without holding a soldering iron and running the risk of the room smelling like burnt chicken, because if you believe the Internet, sometimes holding a hot piece of metal by the hot end is not the best way.

I had a customer that sent me a picture of a heart shaped succulent planter she found on pinterest, and said, "Can you make it like Minecraft" This is the result.

The first car I want to buy is a Scion TC with a 5 speed manual! Modify a little so I can rip it on the tōge a little, then I want to get my absolute dream car, an FRS/BRZ!! Then later down the line I want to own a RHD JDM car, don't know which one yet tho!

Wanted to get the male cardinal that was standing there, but he moved to the far side of the feeder. This little sparrow took his place though. The photo came out very nicely though and I liked its round shape, so here it is!

As you might recall, recently I stumbled on an excellent list of 52 weekly challenges put together by Fabian, DJ5CW and friends. You can find it at hamchallenge.org. As I've previously mentioned, it contains activities right across the amateur spectrum, from designing a QSL card to making a contact on 80m or 160m, with everything in between. It's an excellent tool to set a weekly goal to achieve and I recommend that you have a go.

I really should clean out my garden shed one of these days. At the end of the growing season things just kind of get tossed in and buried. I have thrown caution to the wind and bought myself some kelsae exhibition onion seeds, which arrived today. I know I'm a bit late planting them, but who cares, I just wanna try.

I'm just catching up here, but i usualy share updates on Thursday on my plumeria seedlings. Now 5 weeks out from planting. I've had my first bout of some fungal outbreak. I've gotten it controlled for the moment with a 25% hydrogen peroxide and cinnamon oil solution diluted in water, administered from a spray bottle. All the ones that have formed true leaves look fine, but a couple that were still only cotyledon stage may be done. 🥺 I'll try the same nutrient solution i made up for the other little guy who lost his cotyledon early, but this is a different kind of damage so I may have lost them. Close ups are of the teeny tiny guy still chugging along, leaves noticeably larger today, the other little guy from the Indonesian Rainbow mother's pod, and just a random one from the yellow flowered mother's pod for contrast.#houseplants #plantsfromseed #plumeria @gardening

Did some #gardening, today. Except for where the walking Egyptian onions were, I filled up my bag with compost and sprinkled zinnia seeds on top. Then, I put sticks and leaves on top of the seeds and compost: the sticks to deter squirrels and leaves to act as mulch. The squirrels tore up a lettuce plant and a dandelion and left holes in the soil. They damaged the onion scapes, too. @gardening
