I've been printing quite a few registration plates to hold parts in place in production that need to sit as flat as possible on the production jigs.

I should have built this thing from the word go. I ran this printer for almost a year on my desk right next to my computer. But it was loud and smelly and the high traffic area played havoc on print quality and caused a lot of warping.

Is anyone else having HORRIBLE problems with their Prusa Mk4 or Mk4S first layer quality...

Teasing aside, this works surprisingly well. The default settings for dehydrate is 150°F, which is well under the glass transition temperature for PETG.

Moss stitch in this yarn is the squishiest most pleasant fabric in the universe and I love it so much @knitting

Sanded to 150 and gave it two coats of Rubio Monocoat. It was still too dull so I buffed it back with a red Scotch-Brite had and hit it with the refinishing oil, followed by like six coats of generic automotive ceramic coating.

The teeth feel much catchier after filing them with a triangular jeweler's saw (left half is done), but it still takes a minute of rocking the but back and forth to get through 3/4" plywood.

Hot off the needles.

This knitted vest was my side project in between what I figured were more complex stranded colorwork projects.

I finally got back to the husky scarf last night! For those just tuning in, it's a collection of yarns made from husky fur, representing my journey learning to spin. It starts out with my earliest, chunkiest attempts on a Turkish spindle, through to my latest, finest work on an e-spinner, with various plying methods along the way.

Spec piece made from walnut sapwood and heartwood (allegedly) from the same tree.

The inspiration is from the Elven art in LOTR and Rings of Power

Got 5 little statuette figures to make this week, making them in maple, roughed out on the CNC and finished by hand

Also finished this dishcloth recently.

Currently printing with 5% infill and grid pattern. Why are some of the outer triangles filled in with just one layer? Doesn’t seem to be doing anything.

Walnut and oak with Osage Orange and Padauk accents

Glad for advice on getting mitered corners more precise, I ended up with little gaps using both a table saw crosscut sled and miter saw. I think part of the issue is holding the small pieces of wood totally still.

Got the uppers painted and installed.

Was getting tired of searching around my toolbox for my electric screwdriver and its bits so I figured it was time to design a nice simple stand with space for my most used bits. I decided to give it a tray just to help with not losing screws. The project was modelled up in blender in an hour or so using a mix of sub-d and boolean workflow. The stand printed out nice on my old dependable ender-3 in about 6 hours. I did a number of test prints of just the holes so that I could get the fit right. Getting The bit holes right took time as my printers accuracy is just a bit off and different bits had extremely small differences in dimension. The bit holes actually taper slightly so that the gradually become .5 mm smaller. This saved me having to throw out a whole print if I got it wrong.

So proud of my shawl! I worked on it al 2024. I loved the yarn (Life In The Long Grass) and all the different type of stitches 💕

Pecan wood and Danish Oil. Made this entirely on a Shopsmith while between contractor saws. It was gonna be my first traditional mortise and tenon, but I fucked something up (don't remember exactly what, possibly some measurement) and turned it into a floating tenon situation instead. Still using it (and the headphones) five years later.

One sleeve done, one to go.

Back in December I got my P1S and since I mostly printed Vases and plant pots back then, I decided to mostly use PETG.

Finally finished my jumper and now waiting for it to dry. I was going to start another big project right away, but realised I want something quick and palate-cleansing in between - so I've cast on a wee hot water bottle cover with some left-over yarn. It certainly grows faster than a jumper 😅

Hi Folks! If it wouldn't be too much trouble, would anyone mind giving this a last once-over before I print it? The .stls and CAD files are at the link. All the test joints fit together really nicely, but I'm worried the overall design might have issues that I'm too much of an amateur to identify. It uses a LOT of filament... Good marudai cost hundreds of dollars, whereas 1500g of my preferred filament is only like $45, but I'd still hate to waste that much of it. Thanks in advance!

My red Ranunculus sweater is coming along. Finished the neck and yoke, separated for the sleeves, and have finished about 2" of the body. I like how it's looking so far. The sleeves on this one will be 3/4 length. Holding a strand of fingering and a strand of mohair lace together.#knitting #RanunculusSweater #yarn @knitting

Finally got it out of the box, setup, explore the new features, amazed at those, and the extreme exhaust fan noise.
