Hey, my friend from another country wanted to gift me undertale since it was deeply discounted during current sale but steam had to step in and block gifting since there was price difference higher than 10% and now I am wondering… who thought that it would be good idea?

Is there a lightweight version of the steamstore? It's loading forever and feels very bloated to me.

It's kinda sad that a game you love can only be 100%ed once, forever. I propose an option (and it should really be optional) to reattain the cheevos for a game you've already maxed. The original achievement unlock info should remain, but if the in-game pop-ups could be set to begin again, and for the next unlocked cheevo to add a little star or a +1 to your cheevo icon or something (even if it's only visible to yourself), that would be awesome.

Hi all, I played the shadow of the tombs raider back in August and got to about 25% of it. Today I wanted to play it and thought I'd be able to just continue, but I was wrong. First, steam was saying the game was "out of sync" so I clicked it and it said it was "up to date". Launched the game and it's almost from scratch, like 1 %, so me panik. Looked into the saved data files and they have all these .dat files with one that is a cloud one. Looked online and found a post where someone said I can download my old saves and add them to the folder. Sure enough, downloaded the .dat files for the correct date, but they have reaaaaally long names that have the paths to where they were saved then at the end of each name was the correct name (blahblahblahlinuxsomethingsave206.dat for example). Tried two ways,

Hello everyone! I have this issue with my steam on arch linux where it takes about 5 minutes and sometimes more to start, then I keep getting connection errors when trying to sign in. Ive opened an issue on the github page you can read for more details (logs etc)

I'm really interested in that game, but I don't know if it will have a discount on Winter Sale.

Does anyone else notice how Steam doesn't update games automatically? You need to wait until you launch the game to update it. It also doesn't tell us when games need to be updated. Too often, I'm about to play with friends then find out I need to update the game.

Edit: before buying

Since a few days (maybe weeks, i just don't used it) my remote play from my steam deck to my linux machine (inhouse) isn't working anymore. l just get a loading screen, the sound from my host is playing but the screen stays black or the loading screen is loading to all eternity. Does someone also have this kind of problem?If someone fixed this kind of problem please let me know. Thanks for your help :)

Here is a problem i never had on linux but i started getting on windows.

Having a unique issue where steam is not logging in for me. Its stuck on the logging pop up and stays like that. Is anybody else having this issue? I’m on Ubuntu, it was just working about 10 hours ago. I made and reverted a change thinking that’s what caused it but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I just wanted to use my voice to let everyone know about this since it seems to be something they want to Streisand effect. I made a discussion on the stormgate steam page about how their EULA has a bad link to their privacy policy and asked why the information listed in the policy is being collected. It had to go through the review process since it contained links and then after being posted was deleted from my history after an hour (I guess when someone actually laid eyes on it)

I go to Steam regularly to play my games, usually posting simple screenshots of my game sessions. But when I go to the communities I see Internet videos, GIFs, memes, and memetic everything and it's not really my thing. I even posted on Lemmy that I didn't like memes in general and what do they post on here? It feels like people are having fun by abusing their humanity in the process or like a Reddit subreddit, and I specifically came to Lemmy on the Fediverse to avoid all that. They post things that I'm uncomfortable with and typically I don't have fun by posting Internet memes for a living...that's just weird.

Q1. A few years ago, steam allowed you to sort tag-based releases (e.g. MMORPG) by release date.

There's this game I'm trying to download, and it's big enough that it's going to take several days of continuous downloading to get. I have about half of it so far. I want it to download during my scheduled auto update hours, and pause in the morning when I wake up. Sounds simple, right?

I'm currently there on vacation, and as the ban happened, I couldn't access the app anymore, without using my VPN.
