When I click on the title of a post (I use list view) to see the comments, and then go back to list view, the text style of the title is no longer indicating that I have visited that post. It still shows a change when I upvote or down vote the post. It used to show a change when I followed the actual link (url), but that went away weeks ago. Why all the changes? I’d prefer Jerboa to indicate that I have seen a post if I interact with it in any way. That is, I would expect that clicking the url thumbnail, the title text, or one of the arrow buttons would mark the post as ‘seen’.

Now that the problem with inline images being too large when you scroll past them and back is solved, now you can’t scroll upward past inline images anymore unless you scroll “fast” enough. The view instantly jumps back down a little bit and keeps bouncing for as long the scroll inertia lets it.

I have multiple accounts that I use and I would like to know or change which account I’m posting from or up/down voting from without having to start from the default view of my account.

I’ve noticed a lot of issues scrolling back up in comment sections lately. I’ll scroll down to read some comments, then try to scroll back up and the page continuously jumps back down a comment or two making it completely impossible to scroll up any further.

I think I may have accidentally pushed some secret combo to set the android system navigation bar and notification bar to auto hide but I can’t find that anywhere in the system settings on Jerboa or Android. Anyone run into this before?

I've been stuck in a virtual training this week and normally I know I should stop using an app because it eats all my battery up. Multiple days this week I have been in the app for 2-3 hours and my phone battery is still over 80% when I'm done with a 9 hour shift.

I know of the "Search" feature at the bottom and the "Local" "All" feature at the top - where local refers to the server you logged into.

I used to love to use Jerboa for my lemmy needs. However I made the jump earlier in the year over to piefed and I have been enjoying it ever since. I like the extended federation support, the flair, and multi-post comments features all rolled into one.

Anyone else? Is there a fix? On Android.

I have searched the settings in the app, but didn't found such a setting. I want to have bigger thumbnails for posts with images and link previews. Is that available or if not can this be implemented? I have added a screenshot from "Thunder" with exact such bigger thumbnails. Can this be done?

I wanted to bring to your attention a feature from Voyager for Lemmy that could potentially be a valuable addition to Jerboa.

Links to external sites don't seem to be working. For example, looking at a Not the Onion post, tapping anywhere I'd think should take me to the referenced article just briefly highlights the post (it's clearly detected), but does nothing else. I'm running in an up-to-date Android 15 (Pixel 6) with an up-to-date Jerboa.

Sorry, this is a little embarrassing lol. But my notification bar with the clock and battery don't show in Jerboa any more. Is this some full screen option in the app I've accidentally turned on or something in Android itself I've enabled for this app?

Jerboa sorely lacks the absolute basic feature of searching for keywords in posts. It only supports searching for community names. I can't think of any other Lemmy app that does NOT support general search.

Does anyone else deal with initial load times that take forever? Once it logs me in it seems to be a bit snappier, but half the time the request times out.

I noticed that the last release was in September 27th, which is almost 5 months ago.

I'm writing a Lemmy bot. (No spoilers. I'll publish it one day.) To test it, I'm running a local Lemmy instance (via Docker) on a computer on my LAN and pointing my bot at it. That method works great, mostly. I can use Lemmy-UI just fine on my computer. I can also connect to that computer from a browser on my Android phone via http://192.168.1.199:1234/. I can also connect to Lemmy directly from my browser on my Android phone via http://192.168.1.199:8536/ and get a JSON payload (rather than an HTML page) with some information about the instance. So I'm certain I can connect to both Lemmy and Lemmy-UI from elsewhere on my LAN.

Or is this not possible on Lemmy generally?

Is there a way to only show English posts when in All? I love our friends around the world but I can only read English right now

I'm looking for a way to filter by text in Jerboa, for example hide every post if the title starts with "Trump“

I would love to have a button on images in Jerboa that would completely invert the colors of an image. My retinas keep getting burned when I'm opening a post on my dark themed phone that is of a white image with text. It would be great to be able to view/read the image this way.

It is possible in the future updates create our own custom themes in the Jerboa?thanks 👍

When I open the app it's default to sort by hot. I can't scroll past the first page, it fails to load any more posts. If I sort by top 6 or 12 hour it works.

I am tired of being blasted by political nonsense. I just want to look at memes and tech stuff while also not being scared of exploring new content.

Can we have a long press menu with block options when browsing? Sometimes I want to block things because I don't want to see it. It's a pain having to go to the post and click the options to do it. Or rather try to click it, but then the image loads, displacing the load button, so you accidentally click the image instead, getting it unblurred, in full screen. Literally the very last thing I wanted.

Basically title. I noticed the new version in my F-Droid client but there wasn't any information about it anywhere. The version name also had a mention of the Google Play Store (gplay). What's up with all of this? Are there any questionable proprietary components being implemented to comply with the Play Store requirements or something?

Like the title says. There are communities whose purpose is to just repost Reddit posts using bots and they’re flooding my front page. I’d like to block it using Jerboa. Is it possible? Or can it be done via the web interface?

As the title says, if I click on a link to a Lemmy post that was deleted, or can’t be found for whatever reason, Jerboa goes back to the start of the feed instead of going back to where I was.

I’ve encountered a small issue with Jerboa that I wanted to see if other people were experiencing. And or if there was a fix for this issue.

Is anyone else noticing a lot of repeated posts in their feeds recently?

Not sure if this is user error, a lemmy issue, a jerboa issue, or just inactive communities. A lot of communities I'm subscribed to, with many active members, show no posts more recent than a week or a month. At first I thought this was just a lack of activity, but recently I noticed that a post I had commented on was not visible from the community page (under either hot or new), although I was still getting replies and the post is visible from my comments page.

For me, both of those functions open the link in the built-in browser. Is this a common problem?

Where's the button to set default comment sorting?

I wasn't 100% sure this was a problem, as I had noticed a lot more people commenting what appeared to be static image responses to comments. But there's this thread: https://lemmy.world/post/16932878 which makes it easy to be sure that in fact they are definitely GIFs, and they don't play when you click on them. It just opens the first frame of the GIF like a static image.

I've noticed with the last 2-3 versions of the app (currently 0.0.69, nice); the app crashes 2/3rds of the time when returning to it from being in the background.

Number of up, number of down, and total score next to the heart, that's the perfect way to display that, well done.

Since recently (2-7 days, dunno) my Jerboa crashes when I hit those bars in the corner that let you "sort by...".

I had ticked the Hide Votes box since I started using Jerboa but after I opened the app today posts show votes as tiny text above the post (pretty sure it used to be bigger and next to the upvote button) And I cant find a setting to hide votes anywhere

I'm having trouble seeing the points and I noticed that they're a dull gray and I believe tinier than they used to be.

When I click links in lemmy comments that explicitly include http in the url, the resulting page is always https. To me, the preferred behavior would be to default to https if no protocol is specified, but to respect the user's preference if given.
