Do you happen to have any pictures? I’m picturing a true frankenfuck of a setup, but I’m guessing that my imagination still isn’t doing it the justice it deserves.
Been saying this for years. Any time the masses get involved with something good, it goes to absolute shit. Not everything has to be for everyone.
I usually just make poop jokes but sometimes I like to throw a curveball in there.
One Christmas, returning from a trip to Florida to visit my parents, I ended up sitting on the plane longer than I’d have liked. My legs tend to hurt when I have to sit still for too long and I was really looking forward to having a chance to stand up. After a while, I did manage to get off the plane (clearly), but of course assumed I would then be forced to muscle my way through the roiling throngs at the baggage claim just to catch a glimpse of luggage belonging to strangers. However, I was mildly pleased to see that I was the first prospector to plumb the mines of Samsonite, and would not have to do battle in the Arena of the Carousel. I was still dejected at the idea of waiting still longer to retrieve my luggage and return to my hovel.
A minute or two later later, the alarm sounded, signalling that the sluices were opening, and, lo, first out of the curtains was a bag that looked suspiciously like mine. It couldn’t be, though. Things like that only happen in fairy tales. As it rounded the bend, though, I saw my initials emblazoned across the side, and my uneasy contentment turned to childlike joy as I seized my bag from the very front of the line. Had I not had a witness with me at the time, I scarcely would have believed it myself.
So anyway, that’s why I jump up and headbutt everyone in front of me as soon as the plane lands now.
Devil’s advocate: if they allow users to get refunds after the sale is complete because prices changed, it could also set a precedent for companies to demand additional money from consumers after a sale is completed, and I don’t doubt for an instant that Sony wouldn’t at least try to make that argument.
Yes, and lest you present that as some kind of “gotcha,” the Gestapo didn’t disappear until the Nazis were removed from power, because they were the ones giving the orders. This isn’t about guilt, it’s about actually achieving something.
Ok, let’s say a ceo objects to the boards instructions. They’ll fire that CEO and hire another one that’ll listen. The problem persists.
How many Grateful Dead fans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
None. They’ll just wait for it to burn out and then follow it around for 40 years.
Yeah it looks to me like TinyCore is either made by the same guy as DSL, or uses a substantial number of components from DSL. Either way, it feels very familiar to anyone who’s used DSL in the past, so I consider it a spiritual successor.
2024, when it was briefly reborn and then re-forgotten.
I think it’s also that you’re never going to hear about the rich people who choose to live a quiet life after making their fortune because they’re too busy, you know, living quietly.
Why do people go after the execs when the board of directors is the ones making the shitty decisions?
You only get practice by doing, and doing is easier when you do it without screaming at yourself. Doing little bits counts as doing.

Welp, I’m fuckin sold.
Discipline isn’t about screaming at yourself to go do something. Try moving your fingers that way. I’d be concerned if it worked. It happens at a much lower level than that, which I can only describe as “just doing it,” in much the same way that you “just” move your fingers.
I’m saying all this as someone with ADHD, by the way. Part of task avoidance is actually caused by that chunk of your brain screaming at itself to go do the thing, wasting energy that could have been spent on just doing the thing.
Be an LED, not an incandescent bulb.
It’s probably AI generated, judging from how many times it repeats itself.
1 cm seems pretty thick for something you’ll spend a lot of time holding, too.

DSL is dead. Long live TinyCore.
