GOG sending emails with Nazi symbolism now?

This can’t like just be a coincidence right? I feel like all of those symbols in the same tagline suggests something more than just coincidence.

GOG has made a statement in picture form:

GOG Statement about the email headline controversy

So they were aware of the nazi symbolism and still sent it out, just not in Germany where it’s illegal?

I am German and I also received the email

What a pathetic excuse.

which is also abs bullshit

this is the original title: “Slavic adventure 𖥞 ꥟ ϟϟ”

those “ϟ” runes are Greek Koppa runes:

which are an entirely different symbol to the Sowilo rune “ᛋ":

so the whole “not displaying correctly” is completely fabricated (also you don’t fucking need two of them side by side)

imo someone snuck in a neo-nazi symbol in an email and GOG were either okay with it (if their not sending the email in Germany thing is legit - tho people are saying they got it there as well) or they’re just too up their own asses to admit someone did send out a nazi dogwhistle and instead of investigating who and why they double downed on gaslighting - not a good look either way

They have since also posted an apology on Twitter:

I mean the SS symbols on their own is bad enough but its not the only issue with this titel.

Am I the only one seeing the wheel as a possible approximation of the Black Sun and the middle an approximation of the Kolovrat. (Which is heavily used by Slavic Nazis.

Perhaps I’m pushing the association a bit far, but with the SS symbols it’s not that far fetched… Right?

@nope @banazir there's a distinct impression that the collection of symbols was specifically chosen to provide plausible deniability («it's not EXACTLY that thing») while still being a clearly recognizable dogwhistle. And honestly this just makes it worse.
