Tags and Flairs
Flairs are set up by community mods and admins. They can define their name, text and background color. Flairs allows original posters, mods, admins to categorize their posts in a given community.

Tags are set up by users. Tags allows users to find similar post on a topic (eg : video game) in the fediverse.

They help users to find contents accross the fediverse provided the post has tags.
Multicommunities : Topics and Feeds
Topics are multi-community managed by the instance admin. They can regroup various communities (from lemmy, mbin, piefed), Peertube channel under one topic.

Feeds are multi-community managed by users. They can regroup various communities (from lemmy, mbin, piefed), peertube channel, under one feed. Users can chose to share them or make them private.

Crosspost & comment merge
On PieFed, crossposts are limited to link and video. It allows PieFed to detect and merge the same post and its comments.
If the post is crossposted in several communities, users can read comments from those communities.
Announcing your new community
When user create a new community, if they check
Announce this community to other instances
It will automatically publicize the community in !newscommunities@lemmy.world
It will help you reaching users outside your home instance and invite them to explore your community.
