The voting rights our parents and grandparents marched and fought for are being dismantled — right now, state by state. On May 16, thousands are converging on Montgomery, Alabama for the National Day of Action for Voting Rights. Let’s show up in solidarity with our southern siblings.

On this day 250 years ago, the British were succumbing to George Washington’s army and would soon flee Boston. Special thanks to Henry Knox, a bookseller, who traveled hundreds of miles to Fort Ticonderoga to fetch dozens of cannons for Washington’s troops in the middle of winter that were instrumental in pushing out the British.
Request for email or in-person testimony, for bills that would affect Boston and Bedford. Main link is a Google doc with templates and some suggested points to bring up.
Via Indivisible on Bluesky (sorry for the image of text, that’s what was posed there). The email is elizabeth.lutts@masenate.gov . The bill is SD.3574 .

This is not a typical rally: learn how to get involved locally at our action tables, participate in creative resistance and enjoy entertainment on our main stage.
Tomorrow morning, Boston is having it's very first Labor Day parade. If you're tired of our government prioritizing billionaires over workers, come on out and help show off our solidarity! Everyone is welcome. It's going to be historic, as well as a good time!
The elder Brewster members were caught red handed back in the mid 90s. Mother even served time. Kicked out of the ambulance business for "X" amount of time. (I think it was 10 years).
Wright's Tower was constructed in 1937 under the direction of the Works Progress Administration. In 2008, following restoration of the tower by DCR, a plaque commemorating the visionary who was responsible for the creation of the Fells was attached to the tower.
Marcelo Gomes Da Silva. This is the Milford High kid who was taken by ICE this past weekend. His hearing is scheduled for tomorrow (June 5th) at the immigration court in Chelmsford, MA.
This is one of my favorite places along the esplanade (one of many). It’s a great spot to read something, play video games, or just chill and take in the view. Anyone have any spots like this they don’t mind sharing?
I visited your awesome city in February of this year. Despite the Boston stereotypes, I found the people very outgoing and friendly. I'm from Portland where I wanted to explore the NE USA since I love train travel and walkable cities. During my travels in Boston, I carefully chose to stay in an Airbnb room near MIT since hotel prices can be absurdly expensive and I wanted to be ethical. From there, I walked across the Longfellow Bridge to Back Bay and made my way to Beacon Hill where I checked out Quincy Market, Newbury Street and Seaport.
Sorry for the link from The Other Site, but I thought this was too good to pass up. This is attitude is one of the main reasons I love this city so much. When the chips are down, we don’t fuck around. No tolerance or quarter for fascist bigots.
I recently got a roast beef sub from Paulie's in north end for lunch, and it was pretty ding dang good. It made me realize I don't really go out for sandwiches/subs very much, I think that whole category has become a kind of blind spot for me. I'm curious if anyone has any favorite sub spots in the city I should try? Somerville + Cambridge count too.
