They remove the date stamp because it is a pain point for retailers, but keep adding additional sets each year, which as a retailer, is a worse pain point.
That and making 5 versions of the same cards in the same set.
As a cost cutting mechanism, whatever. I don’t really care if my bulk foil rare has a date, it’ll pringle either way.
