Why do your own farts smell so bad in the shower?

I normally don’t mind the smell of my own farts. Sometimes I enjoy the smell, and at worst it smells “interesting”.

But if I let one out while in the shower, it instantly makes the whole experience unpleasant until the smell is gone. Weird.

I was so so very confused reading about butt Olympics and explosive diarrhea, lmao. That said, no I’ve no intention of having a dog. More of a cat person….
