Carl Erik Rinsch was accused of using Netflix funds intended to complete a science fiction series to buy cars, cryptocurrency and other luxuries for himself.

The 48-year-old, best known for the 2013 film 47 Ronin, was convicted of federal fraud and money laundering for misusing funds.

47 Ronin made $150 million on a $175-225 million budget and was panned by critics when it came out (13% on Rotten Tomatoes), according to Wikipedia.

I was part of that $150 million in the theater can confirm the reviews are accurate. Aggressively mediocre.

I like the $700 fine. Wtf?

That’s after the 11M forfeiture. If he made any profit on it seems he still gets that which is wild imo.
