Actor does his job

Giancarlo Esposito didn’t do his job in Breaking Bad and he became mainstream famous with that role.

Spanish is my mother language and I was looking at the subtitles when he spoke.

And don’t get me started with Pablo Escobar …

So yeah, somebody doing it for one of the least spoken languages in the world doesn’t seem to be expected.

I don’t really care, this is an ad. But it’s nice for the dozen who might see the difference.

Giancarlo Esposito Production company didn’t do his their job in Breaking Bad and he became mainstream famous with that role.

And don’t get me started with Pablo Escobar Netflix …

Just saying, it’s not like these actors were filthy rich and could afford coaching, (especially Pablo imo), and it really should be on showrunners/casting directors and/or production to ensure authenticity is paid for talent who don’t have the expected accents etc

Hawaiian is far from the least spoken language in the world I feel, there’s many languages that are spoken in very sparse areas or by very small populations

For example, Ainu (アイヌ イタㇰ) in Japan is almost dead, with no first-language speakers and very few second language speakers, and Wymysorys (Wymysiöeryś) is only spoken by elderly people in the village of Wiliamowice, Poland

And those are only a few examples, there are a lot of languages that are barely hanging on like this

I’m not saying Hawaiian isn’t endangered, it’s listed as Critically Endangered, but it’s one in an, unfortunately large, list of critically endangered languages

Idk, I’ve seen a lot of actors do their jobs without such efforts. Just because someone’s an electrician doesn’t mean they’re a good electrician.

In other news, firefighter learns to use hose to put out fires.

After watching John Wayne as Ghengis Khan, I expect nothing less.

My fucking sides you are not joking

Is it at all worth watching for the use of cinemascope? I’m a widescreen nerd.

Hawaiian is a really interesting language. I’ve been learning it slowly for a couple years. He haumāna e ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi au!
