I just wanted to sign into Mastodon on my phone in my browser but couldn't autofill in the login data from Proton Pass. It had worked about an hour ago but suddenly doesn't work anymore, regardless of which website or which browser I use. I reinstalled Proton Pass and checked that Autofill is on but still nothing.
The CLI app is barebones. I know this is said a lot about Proton services (at least on Reddit) but it's true on Linux. No split tunnel, app shuts down when I turn off my display, and the connection is very unstable.
I just now realized I have access to Proton Docs. I've been a Proton user for years at this point and it does keep getting better and better, though I do have some gripes about some of their stances.
I've had this problem for over a week. If I have the protonvpn extension enabled, firefox won't load a page. As soon as I disable it, I can. Has anyone seen this before?
With the recent update (v4.1.11), it keeps on forgetting the credentials after I close the app. When I open it, it asks for the credentials. Is it a feature or a known bug?
I'm just mostly commenting to vent frustration with what I'm seeing this past week as a sharp spike in captchas and sites straight up blocking Proton VPN IPs. Proton is slowed down, captcha'd and blocked at a far higher rate than any such behavior I encountered with Nord when I used them. You can do all you want to protect privacy but when you hold yourself out as the big "privacy" VPN service everyone's gonna be suspicious that you're gonna be the service that bad actors use and block all your traffic. I know I should also figure this will happen but I would also figure there would be more effort to prevent it from happening. I use Proton VPN because I enjoy Proton's other services but if this keeps up I feel it may get to be unusable for me.
Title. Is that possible? I have proton vpn setup at the network layer at home so there is no need for the app on my phone or laptop to be connected when at home. However I would like it to auto connect when I connect outside of my house. As anyone done this before? This would specifically be for android and windows devices if that matters.
I've decided to leave Proton after being a user since 2017. Today, I migrated all my services to my new domain, marking the end of my time with Proton. The recent political noise and price point were no longer justifiable for me. It was a good experience while it lasted. Thanks for the fishes 🐟 🐠
Proton Drive has decided to duplicate about a thousand files on me. It has also decided to stop syncing properly. Not sure what the issue is but it's broken. I've restarted it, reinstalled it, restarted my computer (Mac). It keeps saying that it synced X minutes ago but it's very evident that there are files present on the web version that are not on my computer. There should be no reason for these files to be missing. And there's files my Finder says "this file doesn't exist" even though it does.
A complaint I've had for a while is that the Proton Mail bridge auto starts with the ProtonMail Bridge configuration window open. If you're like me, everytime you restart your computer, Proton Mail Bridge jumps up in your face and you immediately close it.
Hey all,
I’m thinking of moving my whole family over to Proton Family, mostly for the combination of multiple email accounts for our custom domain and shared storage.
I am on a quest to substitute my phone default apps with something more privacy and security oriented ones. One of such apps I plan to substitute is the "Contacts" one, and I see no Proton app exists solely for this purpose.
I fully intended to buy Proton Unlimited during the black friday discounts, but wasn't anywhere with an internet connection and missed out. I need a VPN and a properly secure email service before January. Is it worth waiting to see if they post a christmas or new years deal or should I just do it and deal with it? I don't know if they've historically posted Christmas discounts or if it is just the Black Friday thing.
I use Proton Drive on Android, installed from the play store. I have >250gb of data with, I think, 10s of thousands of documents. For a few months navigating the file structure was crazy slow, almost 30 seconds for each folder I entered.
I need to import from a non-supported 3rd party password manager. The ProtoPass JSON format looks the most promising, but I can't find details on the Id values. They appear to be some type of encoded hash or GUID, but I'm unfamiliar with how to generate them. I would appreciate any pointers on how to get the details. Thanks!
I'm trying to automate the creation of Wireguard profiles to connect to various Proton VPN servers. As far as I can tell, when you generate one online through account.proton.me:
@protonprivacy@lemmy.world is an unofficial or fake account??? The official verified account is @protonprivacy@mastodon.social !!!#ProtonMail #ProtonDrive #ProtonVPN #ProtonCalendar
Internationalized Email Addresses, for example প্রোটন@তৌহিদুর.বাংলা is not supported by Proton Mail. When I type my email address in Proton Mail, it weirdly tells me address is not valid.
