It’s Dutch who keeps pushing and pushing for that one last big heist even as the whole gang starts to crumble around him. The further the game progresses Arthur seems to follow Dutch more out of guilt driven loyalty than conviction and at one point he even says that maybe the time of bandits and train robbers is over.
He still livin’ the cowboy life himself, though. Even the most honorable player is still doing all the sidequests, righting wrongs, wronging rights, all by his own judgement and the barrel of a revolver, atop a horse, chawin’ on tobacky.
He realizes he’s a relict, but he has no interest in abandoning the life. Just making a slightly more honorable way through it.
