Another post reminded me that these existed and were everywhere in the 90s.

I grew up in the 90s and aughts. These containers were frequently around cash registers in convenience stores and perhaps other small businesses. I don't remember them being so consistently branded, but my experience then would have been limited to going into a handful of stores in the same locale. Of course, Canada ditched pennies (1 cent pieces) from cash transactions just over 10 years ago (we now round for cash transactions).

You LOVED playing yours, but HATED the awful battery life.

i spent a lot of time in BBS-land and telix quickly became my favorite term emulator. it contained the first scripted language i put to any use, SALT. i still have the book!

Apparently the story goes that this 20-25 year old bottle was found in 2016(?), which went viral online, and Nintendo wound up sending the guy an unopened SNES anyway. (Plus a bunch of other stuff)

Any guesses on what they could be playing?

I'd forgotten about these - apparently they changed the name in the 70s to Fun Dip, but I was long over them by then.

Additional Spy Gadgets!

If you're old enough you might remember seeing one of these in a drug store, grocery store or even Radio Shack. You could pull all the tubes from your radio or TV, put them in a paper bag, and take them down to your local store to test. And hopefully you wrote down which one came out of which socket. Once you found the bad tube or tubes, the store proprietor would unlock the bottom and find new replacement tubes. And the price list is taped right inside the door.

I had one! I could have sworn it was a green/gray/turquoise colour, but this is the only colour that comes up.

M'dad always bought the least expensive stuff - we kids, ofc, wanted Stripe! or Ultra-Brite, or Close-up.

Ice wedges in foil. Peppery bite. Sometimes you'd chew some foil to fuck w/your fillings...

Ah the good old days of vinyl when you'd get home with a brand new LP, gently remove it from its sleeve. Being extra careful to avoid touching the surface.

This was a complete "Lamb Lies Down..." boot....excellent quality. This was probably purchased from a "Hippy" shop (incense, beads, hash pipes) circa '76.

This was one of my most prized possessions as a kid—right up until my sister stole it and traded it for a Cheese String at school.
