Searching for it doesn’t yield results, and wiki says in the 1980’s they didn’t find evidence for this:
W. D. Simpson speculated that a motte might lie under the present castle, but excavations in the 1980s failed to uncover substantive evidence of early medieval fortification. The discovery of a group of Pictish stones at Dunnicaer, a nearby sea stack, has prompted speculation that Dún Foither was actually located on the adjacent headland of Bowduns, 3 miles (5 km) to the north.
Huh didn’t time team do an excavation there?
I don’t know what that is, but there are medieval castle ruins there now.
Time team is/was a tv show where they would do archeology usually in Britain. It’s a great show, it’s on YouTube, if recommend checking it out :)
