Can Tunisian Ocean Stitch be done with 2 colors in the round?

submitted by Dabbler & Mod

Does anyone know if this is possible? I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything. Then, I tried to just do it, but it didn't seem to be working... Solid odds I was either doing it wrong, or it needs some kind of modification to work with 2 color in the round style. There's gotta be a way right?

It seems doable. Assuming you're working off these instructions (https://newstitchaday.com/tunisian-ocean-stitch/), skip the +2 in the starting chain and for the return pass just repeat 'yo through 4 loops, ch2' from the start.

That said...this might be a stitch that'll be completely one color in the round, since the chained return pass is hidden. My sample only has color since it's so loose. Tan is the forward pass, green is the return pass.

Ooh this looks a lot better than my attempt, ty!! I was running into that issue of only one color really showing up much, but also my stitch definition just seemed way worse than this.

Oh, did you still give yourself a specific multiple of starting chains? Maybe that's where I messed up.

I kept the multiple of 10 recommended.
This was with 20 chained and then I wrapped around and started picking up loops for the second row. Or uh, first real row after the chains.

Ahh gotcha. I was hoping I could fudge that part for in the round work, since it's for an existing project that isn't already in multiples of 10. Maybe it won't work then. Next time I'll think further ahead!
