“His selection isn’t just a conflict of interest — it’s an aggressive step toward handing America’s mail system over to corporate interests,” Brian Renfroe, the president of the National Association of Letter Carriers, said in a statement. “Private shippers have been waiting to get USPS out of parcel delivery for years.”

Are conflicts of interest required to get appointed by this serial bankrupt business man?

What would be the point of appointing people otherwise?

Exactly. Those people want to become richer and the regime wants people they can have leverage over so they don't step out of line. The only problem with this strategy is that it's super fragile for both sides which is usually why it fails. Just google the oligarchs that got people like Hitler into power. They always think they are safe because they are loyal but it never lasts. In the end they are all power hungry and want to be the one on top. We can already see the infighting starting with people like Musk.

JFC. Could they at least pretend to not be totally corrupt?

Why?

At this point the only reason they aren't openly transferring money into their own accounts, is because they still have some fear of the international banking system.

I'm assuming this is gonna be worse than dejoy

Which is fucking SAYING something! 🤬

I guess I start making donations to the post office by becoming a stamp hoarder?

Don't worry, the USPS will still be tasked with the unprofitable, thankless job of delivering letters and flats, the raiders will carve out the quite profitable small package business, "raise the market floor" on the pricing and then lots of little mom and pop garage businesses are gonna get fucked.

I'm tuned into what they are doing because my wife has one of those garage businesses. 10 years ago her standard package cost $3.15 most places in the US, now it's $5.40 and honestly, I'm not mad. When these chucklefucks "raise the market floor" it's going to be on par with UPS and FedEX, which costs $15+

I repeat the phrase "raise the market floor" because that's a quote from the leaked Wells Fargo proposal to privatize the USPS. They literally think we pay too little to ship small packages. It's a small piece of shit floating by on this swollen river of sewage, but it's one that's going to affect me drastically so I'm paying attention to it.

They already started fucking up package delivery with longer times. Priority mail is up to 4 days now. They closed a bunch of local sorting facilities and send everything to larger regional facilities. My guess is that they will privatize those if they aren't already. Say goodbye to eBay. I already started boycotting FedEx years ago for sucking.

Yup, I knew they'd top DeJoy. DeJoy came in, made sure his master got in the presidency both times and now that his job is done and got to comfortably step down, in comes this asshole to just finish the job by killing the USPS.

kinda odd that dejoy dint do anymore after 2020,

Mirror’s Edge wasn’t a fun parkour game was it? It was actually a prophecy in the privatization of mail.

Why was Biden supposedly unable to get rid of DeJoy yet this dude can step in no problem?

Because a panel manages the postmaster, not the president, and there have to be very specific reasons for removal.

And now, DeJoy stepped down. He was not removed.

Now someone new was selected.

Because the bulk of Democrats are owned and financed by the same oligarchs funding Republicans/Trump
— America is (functionally equivalent to) a corporate dictatorship, merely masquerading as a democracy, and has been for many decades.

I don't even think he's all that conflicted about his interests
