Damnit! Well I guess I'm installing this game again...

This sounds good, but after around 100 hours, i just burned out on the base gameplay loop :/

Oh same for me, I have my save with everything and I'll go to that, see the new stuff, uninstall it 20 minutes later.

Gets me excited for light no fire.

Patch notes

Highly abbreviated summary:
New story mission chain.
Further additions to biome assets, new star system type with different styles of terrain generation.
Many QOL updates.

It's nice and sort of funny to see that they've restored water to some planets' moons. Wild to think it's been maybe around 8(?!) years since that was abruptly removed. Always get some mixed vibes from No Man's Sky updates due to this awkward back and forth between removing and restoring parts.

I have such a hard time getting into the game. I just don't think the flying around feels as good as it should.

Yeah I've tried 5 times and it still feels the same as it did on release. I don't understand it

Think of it as a space tourist game. I like to inspect planets and build unique vacation homes. Main quest? Nah, I'm building an upside-down pyramid on top of a tiny island on a planet almost completely covered in water. Why? Because I want to.

I don't get it either

-Planets are generic

-The gameplay is boring

-Bad quests

-Verrrrryyyy long tutorial

It does not challenge you at all and is colorful as hell. Children love it.

This is probably why I love it. Helps you "clock out" by shutting your brain off after a long day.

See that's what I want, i just dont think no mans sky gives that too me better than Microsoft flight simulator

I saw a clip where some gas giant exploration is happening and it showed what appeared to be collapsing terrain. I thought that was pretty neat

Deep oceans is something thay's been awaited for a *long* time

I’ll com back to the game when there's more than 3 space stations in an infinite universe.

Last time I played (more than 4 years ago) there was one in each star system…

I believe they mean the variety of stations, which back in the day there were only three.

Anyway, they should go back to the game. A station overhaul happened awhile ago.

This update introduced a lot bugs and broke the currently going on Expedition for many players. Oh well, at least I can find something else to play now.

When they add diverse, interesting, challenging combat, I'll try it again.

I wouldn't wait for that, I dont think it was ever the objective with this game, main focus has always been exploration

It's been a long time since I last played, did they fix the player hitbox?

Started playing again with the Liquidators expedition and I have no idea what you mean, so its probably fixed

Apparently not fixed:

I mean, that thread mentions the flytraps which, in my experience, have an extremely specific radius around them that when you get too close they closed up and damage you. I know that because if you get close enough you can pick the oxygen inside of it without taking dmg, and I never got hit while trying to do that

The thread also mentions hostile fauna hitting through cave walls and the worst I remember is the dash attack of the dog sentinel damaging you even if it was nowhere close to you

I think the cave thing happens still, rarely since it requires a combination of things, sentinel dog I have been dodging just fine. If you ahve the game you can just try it, if you dont just pirate to test it or smth, imo it isnt a big problem currently but to each their own.

Enemies used to melee you from 5 meters away

More mindless procedural generation sold as “content”

They have been giving free updates to this famously procedurally generated game for almost 10 years. If you expected a different kind of update (and thought it was a paid update?), that's on you.
