The most prolific move is that Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel is heading from Oct. 2, 2026.....
That's not what prolific means!
I honestly wonder how people who write for a living make these mistakes.
The Batman sequel is heading from Oct. 2, 2026 to Oct. 1, 2027.
What the hell is taking them so long? A 5 year gap between sequels is ridiculous.
Part of it is certainly the current DC studio timeline. This is a separate batman from James Gunn's, so it's likely placed around other DC titles.
I'm ok with that. 5 years is long enough that it becomes completely new. I don't want marvel fatigue to ruin this new Batman.
It is longer than normal, but not far outside the norm. Most Batman film sequels are 3-4 years apart, so 5 is long, but just a bit longer.
Plus we got a fantastic Penguin show this year set in the same universe, so it feels more alive.
I did the breakdown the other day, https://lemmy.world/comment/14038155
A 5 year wait is long, but only a little longer than the 3-4 year average.
Also this excludes cinematic universes, which means characters show up more frequently, even when it isn't "their" film.
I wonder if we'll get another spin off project before then.

[EVERYONE LIKED THAT]
Something in the way of production
Is it a zaslav?
Tom Cruise is involved. I am willing to bet the director and Cruise are not on the same page, if even the same book.
Hmm-mmm....
