Quick steps to delete an Instagram account

Open the Instagram app  
On your profile, click on the hamburger menu  
Under Settings and activity, click Accounts center  
Click Personal details  
Click Account ownership and control  
Click Deactivation or deletion  
Select the Meta account you want to delete  
Select Delete account & click Continue  
Select a reason & click Continue  
Click Continue again  
Enter password & click Continue

The article has one link to a list of alternatives but I think it deserves more attention. People won’t leave Insta till they know where they might go to instead for a similar thing.

I’ve been on PixelFed for a couple of years and it works really well. My instance, metapixl.com, is small but mighty and federates with most of the rest of the fediverse.
