The US is not even part of the ICC though. The rest of us didn’t elect him.
Why would that matter? It’s a court, he doesn’t like it, and he’s attacking it.
Well, your comment just has a bit of a “what goes around comes around” vibe, when this is the US attacking an institution it has nothing to do with. You could reasonably expect him to attack the rule of law in America first, not starting with fucking it up for the rest of us.
But for sure, nothing surprising about Trump attacking the rule of law and supporting genocide.

The US was not really playing in the first place. Basically the other kids invited the US to play a game of international justice years ago, the US said “fuck that” and refused to join in, and now they are trying to put fire to the club house.
Thankfully the fact that the US are not parts of the ICC means they have way less leverage. Basically it is a problem to the ICC because they depend on American companies like Microsoft, and companies that want to do business with american companies and are afraid of sanctions.
Going down this route will do incredible harm to US companies as it’ll be obvious to everyone that they cannot be trusted.

They don’t care about “fairness” they want to kick out trans people from sports.
I kinda think it’s worse. They don’t care about trans people at all and are only doing this reversal for political gain.

Now is a better time than ever for any foreign entity to move off of US-based banking and digital services. The US government can order you locked out of services you paid for, for any arbitrary reason.
Trying to undermine the worlds most effective court against dictators, crimes against humanity, and war crimes tells a lot about admission of guilt.
Just look at the list of countries opposing the ICC, and you know how important it is that this court can provide justice.
Who in their right mind would expect the American government to ever do anything besides being true to its global rapist, troublemaker, doublespeaking charlatan ethos? Regardless of the elected scapegoat, things have always moved one way, the difference is only in the speed and openness.
