Supersonic is a super awesome music player

So I have been using it for a while for navidrome, can’t say how good it is for Jellyfin, but it supports both and is pretty awesome if any of you have navidrome or Jellyfin and have a desktop this is a pretty awesome piece of software

This is my new favorite one, cleanest UI i’ve seen for a music player on desktop.
tried it, but the appimage would just constantly break for whatever reason. just wouldn’t load half the time.
Switched to Feishin for my navidrome server and prefer it, simple and clean.
Why not use flatpak It’s easier to maintain for the devs and superior in many ways like managing permissions
I might, but I don’t have any issues with Feishin so unless it does something way better than I’m happy with what I have.
I would love to try the flatpak but it is not (yet) verified on flathub so I wait for that to happen.
Well ends up there’s a nixos package for it so I gave it a shot, been using it for the last couple days. I dig it more than Feishin so I switched to it. it’s not bad, pretty good.
I am also using it on my Linux machines. It works amazing both on x64 and ARM64 devices.
I think it is fantastic, and it is my player of choice. However, I wish there was an alternative that better integrated with the GNOME desktop environment.
I am somewhat of a Libadwaita fan
Supersonic is a pretty nice player indeed.
It’s really sad it’s not that well integrated in KDE Plasma. I believe it’s based on Adwaita, or whatever it’s called and it’s not as aesthetically pretty as native KDE apps. Also (and I think that is really annoying) it’s impossible to maximize / close to the system tray with a single mouse click the way other applications work (Cantata or Elisa, just to name a couple of better integrated Plasma music players).
I’ve tried several Linux Subsonic compatible music players and Feishin and Supersonic are the best ones.
Btw, besides Navidrome and Jellyfin it also supports lms, that is the streaming server I like most.
It’s not adwaita it’s a unique design so it doesn’t look that native on anything but again I kinda don’t stare at my music player
How does it compare to Clementine?
PieFed
Oh this looks really nice. I’ve been pretty happy with Feishin but might give this a try too.
Thought feishin only worked with Jellyfin since I use gravitywell.xyz as my navidrome server and on their website they had feishin, and it said Music streaming client for Jellyfin
nope, I use feishin with my navidrome server and it works great. zero issues at all.
I started using it last week, simply because other options weren’t playing nice with my self-hosted collection (they wanted local files…).
Seems to work well, but it is very basic.
