Awesome. I loved those games.

I also loved playing Doom on the thing when I installed Linux on it briefly. 🤣

These ran linux? Crazy

Total madness! Pretty impressive!

Mine ran Rockbox, which had Doom, Quake, etc plugins

I can’t believe so many were made. I can’t believe your average person could find them and purchase them and sync them. It was basically a proto Apple Store.

Anyone else still use their old clickwheel iPod or just me?

Had mine flashmodded and battery upgraded, continue to happily use on walks.

I'll have to look into that!

I had mine going until the battery went spicy pillow about a year and a half ago and I haven't had time to replace it yet.

That reminds me I need to refresh my backups and prepare for the day the HDD gives out.

I do actually remember having the Sonic games, or at least the first one pictured in the thumbnail.

I've been complaining about no longer having access to the original Sonic game for iPod for years! There wasn't even a way to pirate it up until now.
I'm excited to finally replay it with the controls I first learned Sonic on.

Always happy to hear about things getting preserved like this.

Finnish date? Wrong. New Zeland.

That’s actually sick

Yeah this is awesome for esoteric game preservation. Hopefully in the future someone builds an iPod emulator specifically that can open these files so they can be played without the original hardware
