Granny's Meatball

Got a dish at Restaurant La Buche in Québec City called La Boulette À Mamie — beef patty, mashed potatoes, caramelized onions, sautéed peas and maple bacon, red wine meat gravy (wish I showed it better but it’s on the potatoes back there😆). I’d like to recreate something like this back home. Smelled and tasted as good as it looks on the plate, no filters necessary;)

I'm not sure I've ever had sautéed peas. How were they?

Amazingly flavorful especially with the bacon/bacon fat! But then again, I actually like peas lol xD

For the record my BF hates peas and liked them them prepared this way:)

Sounds incredible, thanks for the insight 😁

The name Granny's Meatball does not sound anywhere near as appetising as either the French name or the picture!

Idk, I thought it was easier for everyone to provide the English translation!😆

Brb, making that immediately.

La Boulette À Mamie

Haha, my little A2-level French is starting to serve me well!

Anyway, looks delish. oO
But I also wanna comment that caramelized onions are like the nuclear bomb of food porn! (and if you're mainly 'veggie' like me, check out Lebanese Lentils, s'il vous plaît)

Also, I gotta admit-- and holy smokes! Beef & potatoes is like a combination handed down by the food gods. (and actually fairly nutritious, too, as potatoes are a 'super food')

Caramelized onions level everything up.

Caramelized onions and a nice char on the meat is positively salivatory!
