I've fully scanned and archived this web design magazine from 2000 and put it up on the Internet Archive. You can go and experience the future of the web, 25 years ago!

I just stumbled upon the resume site of a web designer/developer named Corey Tegeler and just immediately liked something about it. It's simple, in two columns on desktop and one column on mobile, and has a nice use of a monospaced font. The background subtly changes color over time.

The past few years I've been disgusted with the internet. Rediscovering small sites has made me love it again!

I'm an 80s kid not a 2000s kid, but I found these while cleaning out a closet and thought you guys would appreciate them. These Magnetix toys came out around 2004/5 I think and were very popular until they were recalled in 2006 after a few kids ended up swallowing some of them. Apparently having multiple neodymium magnets coursing through your intestines is really bad... I don't remember why I bought them as I was like 24 in 2005 lol I'm sure I had a good reason though

The Sonic Adventure site is my favorite, especially the blog.

What’s better than to do some journaling on the balcony on a nice summer evening?

In the 1980s, years before the World Wide Web, a virtual online community emerged called the Well (the Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link). Centred on the San Francisco Bay Area of California, the Well not only thrived in its own right, but proved to be one of the most influential factors in the birth of the internet as we know it today. And its long life was in large part thanks to fans of the Grateful Dead.

I got into bullet journaling a few weeks ago. I looked at a bunch of resources that went into detail, but I felt like I didn't have the big picture. The Absolute Ultimate Guide covers the motivation, what bullet journaling is all about, and details for getting started quickly, all in one relatively short post.

I was just looking something up on caddyserver.com, which is not a retro website by any means. But, when I got to the very bottom of the page, I saw some classic browser buttons that I haven't seen in a very long time. And a hit counter, too! It made me smile.
