Der Bundesbeauftragte für Kultur und Medien (BKM) hat die drei vom Deutschen Buchhandlungspreis ausgeschlossenen Buchhandlungen aktiv getäuscht. In einer vom BKM zu verantwortenden E-Mail vom 10.02.2026 an die Buchhandlungen heißt es: „Leider muss ich Ihnen mitteilen, dass Sie von der unabhängigen Jury nicht für eine Auszeichnung ausgewählt wurden. Die Jury hat sich bei dem sehr hohen Niveau der Bewerbungen die Entscheidungsfindung nicht leicht gemacht. Die getroffene Wahl schmälert deshalb keineswegs unsere Hochachtung für Ihr großes Engagement.“

It’s like the Dutch government doesn’t understand that the Chinese have a backup plan for their backup plan. Like there would be no response?
