Stick library in Aarhus, Denmark

Beyond: a white sign on a far wall: Bibliotek. 'Library.' To the right: the edge of a shelf with a plant hanging down. In front of us, about a metre high, a nice wooden display board. It is made of horizontal planks, smooth and light brown, with wooden hooks fashioned into them. Placed on each row of hooks, like valuable swords in a museum, six nice long slim curvy sticks. On top, a sign (in English, even though this is a Danish library): ‘Stick Library. Take a stick. Leave a stick.’ There is no further explanation and nor should we seek one. It is enough that this stick library exists, here, now, before us, for our pleasure, here in this library."

la doggothèque — another dog stick library

When I came across this box, in front of a Parisian public library, I was instantly reminded of this post from two months ago, so I’m sharing the picture here. This is the first and only time I’ve seen a dog stick library in real life.

I've been following this Instagram "OfficialStickReviews" for longer than I've known about this Lemmy Instance. So I'm going to share it, because we have similar interests, you and I.

They are definitely less discriminating than you are. They'll accept many inferior sticks. They also sometimes will have "stick babes" who show up with any old stick just to boost their profiles or something.
