Can't create community on my own instance

submitted by edited

Hi. I’ve set up a new single-user instance for myself today and I’m trying to create a local community.

I’m getting this error:

“You are not able to do this action due to being a very new account or because of a low reputation.”

Can I somehow get around this limitation?

Lol, glad it’s fixed. I think it might be an idea to make the community creation creation delay customisable.

That’s part of limitation for first account created on piefed to prevent spam and bots. According to the wiki, you just have to wait 24h.

Users with the admin role should be exempt from this restriction. @squirrel@cake.kobel.fyi

I wasn’t sure if it also applied to admin, thank i added your reply to the wiki.

Do you have a problem with the admin account?

Good shout. I had to switch the role for my account from user to admin through the admin panel. Now I’m able to create communities.

But I wonder why the role of my admin account was “user” in the first place.

Glad it was solved. Maybe it was an issue ? @rimu@piefed.social @wjs018@piefed.social

Maybe it’s got something to do with the YunoHost ldap auth for the first logged in user.
