what do I do if a post doesn't federate?

submitted by

I made the following post: https://piefed.social/c/gothindustrial/p/1810616/cultural-death-by-verin around 11am EST. However, 4 hours later it still hasn’t shown up on other instances, ex: https://lemmy.world/c/gothindustrial According to the Federation Health overview everything’s caught up.

(This also happened with another post that I made on !bmoviebonanza@lemmy.world but I just deleted that one and re-posted it from my lemmy.world account.)

What do I do if I have a post that doesn’t federate?

Thanks.

We may have some problems here. @rimu@piefed.social None of the posts I’ve posted to !television@piefed.social have federated.

Looks like it is back to normal now.

About an hour ago I deployed a lot of code changes and in doing so restarted everything. If something had gotten clogged up inside then that restart would have flushed it out.

Great, thanks!

I made a comment that hasn’t federated yet either:

edit: looks like this comment has federated (5:28 EST)

In Lemmy you can force a post to be federated by putting it’s url into the search. I did that on lemmy.world and how your post shows up in the community but the date is wrong:

odd.

Very interesting… it was a scheduled post, and I think I did indeed schedule it 11 days ago. The pity is that it’s now way down in the “New” and “Active” post sortings. (but tbh it’s not that big a deal, I’ll probably just delete and repost.)
