It was a momentous day, and from its very first moment, it was pivotal—nothing after it would be the same as before.. For two years, the Palestinian’s goal has been resilience, survival, and life.. and that is their victory! The Israeli’s goal—regardless of what they claim—is to turn the Palestinian dream of return and liberation into a nightmare.. and that is their victory! Between the dream and the nightmare.. two million Palestinians have lived through the bitterness of death, fear, loss, hunger, and displacement.. What I know as I recall this day.. the shock and astonishment at the sight of the white Hilux roaming in Sderot! Which, for a moment, returned to being its original Huj. Then a quick farewell to my family, unaware that it would be my last time seeing them.. !! Then immersion in journalistic coverage, the longest and hardest, between anticipation, follow-ups, a first injury, a second, the loss of colleagues, and moments too numerous to count! As if the 24 months were 24 years, or perhaps more..
