Since Diaper Donnie is soon going to be rubbing his hands in glee to send Americans now into his meat grinder over wars he starts, how do you plan to avoid the draft?
I’m too old to join, thank god. Too old and too out of shape for them to bother caring. Plus a lot of psychological issues that will make me more likely shoot my superior that’s telling me I need to kill innocents to help king pedo succeed in his bullshit missions.

Do you think they’d actually bring back the draft? I feel like after Vietnam they realized that it’s too hard to send the general population to do terrible shit without getting a lot of pushback. A professional military that’s already filtered out anyone with a conscience is half of why they can just do shit like this while most of the country doesn’t want it. Plus technology has improved a lot, allowing a smaller force to do the same thing.
As for me. I’m already out of that age range, but I’ve already been wanting to move for a while. Maybe that would be the last kick in the pants necessary to get me to actually do it. But with the depression it’s still kind of a coin flip so….
The DoD thinks its a dumb idea to have a draft as the quality of the fighting force is degraded and other Incentives work better. The problem is facts and good reasoning are not something that the current administration is known for. Half want a Holy war to bring about Armageddon. The other half will do it based on something they see on social media.
The US government has been investing billions into AI, drones, and other autonomous and remote weapons systems.
Sending a bunch of young men to the opposite side of the world would be not just unpopular, it incredibly expensive. Food, clothing, equipment, healthcare costs. I highly doubt the end goal is to actually annex Iran, so they’re much better off trying to find a local group to support in taking over the country and establishing a US-friendly puppet state. There’s no need to have Americans in guerilla warfare for that.
The only way I see them doing that is if they WANT to kill off a chunk of the male population in that age group. Which… Maybe? I could certainly see Trump and Hegseth trying to send “undesirables” overseas to die, but they’ve also made moves like banning trans people from military service. Unless they reverse policies, it looks like Trump will prefer to cozy up to the military rather than use it as a tool for getting rid of people.
Maybe Trump will just do what Netenyahu tells him to. But I think this is more about trying to manufacture a reason to cancel mid-term elections like they outlined in 2025 than anything else. With the added benefit of funneling more government money into the military-industrial complex.
I mean we are talking about an administration that things tarriffs are great and constantly swaps them around and also that sending paramilitary into cities is great. trying to get rid of abortion and straight up suggesting woman should not vote.
They’re explicitly creating a database of people they don’t like. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a draft that only selected people from that list to send to die. However, I could also see that backfiring pretty bad. Training them up to use weapons and fight, and handing them rifles, probably isn’t the smartest move.
I’m too old, but remember doing this planning after 9/11. (FWIW, if it didn’t happen then, it’s really likely not going to happen now, but you never know. Always good to have a plan.) Here he’s some options:
First option: conscientious objectors are still allowed. Go join a Buddhist temple (treeleaf.org is an online one). But you have to commit. Be a member in good standing, take the precepts, actually participate. Similarly, you can be exempted if you’re a priest. Do you genuinely think that aliens are angels and that the alien god Raël is our savior? Great! Start a local Ralean church and start preaching. Do it on YT! Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Perfect! We need more Pastafarians to get it legally recognized in more states.
Second option: Mental Health Disqualifications. An ADHD diagnosis CAN sometimes be enough to get a deferral (but Petey might sign a blanket waiver). Gender dysphoria as well, and with this administration, they’re so trans-phobic that seems like a slam dunk (assuming there’s no trans gulag you’ll end up at). The important part to any mental health disqualification is treatment or meds in the last 12 months (24 months maybe).
Third option: Stay in school, kids. Regular university attendance still is ground for a deferral….today at least. Grad school? PhD program? Might be worth the application fee.
Fourth option: Leaving the country. A lot of people ended up in Canada during Vietnam. Digital nomad visas are easy to get in a lot of places. An alternative to this would be Peace Corps service, which would let you defer being drafted until your service is done. You can extend up to 5 years in the same country. Also a large number of people in PC during Vietnam. Considering it survived when USAID didn’t, I’d say anyone qualified might as well start applying now as it can take up to a year to a placement.
Last option: Be the sole income earner for your family. So marry someone - anyone - and be employed, preferably in an industry that won’t go away during a draft (sorry, DoorDash isn’t going to cut it). I had a grand parent who was a welder during WWII who wasn’t drafted based on this one.

German here, so provably not applicable as it was 17 years ago (jeez) and a climate when they were just getting rid of it (only to reintroduce it again this year)
I avoided “Wehrdienst” by rolling in hungover with sunglasses and a Hawaiian shirt, botching their written test and telling them how much I enjoy going to leftist demonstrations and how I can’t wait to hold a weapon in my hand.
I think they don’t enjoy the idea of arming and training leftists.

Not of age, I got through the “draft period” during GWB. The US probably won’t have a draft, mainly because we have a sizeable “volunteer” military.
However, if I was drafted, I would talk to my draft board about how I’ve read books about fragging, and how all I can think about is how powerful that is, for one man with one weapon on the inside to destroy or disrupt the chain of command. Then do your best Private Pyle “Seven Six Two millimeter. Full Metal jacket!” imitation. The military doesn’t care about sending untrained and unqualified conscripts into an active war, but I doubt they will take someone who seems to have uncontrollable fantasies about shooting their own officer.
Didn’t vietnam have an extremely high rate of officer friendly fire casualties? I thought this was actually a major component of ending the draft.

When the US goes to war the recruitment waivers get really liberal. I think the only thing that’s automatically disqualifying are serious violent felonies and cases involving sexual assault.

I did end up with my name in it once, but I never got past the medical evaluation :3 failed the psychological tests lol. It did end up with me getting a military mandated mental hospital visit™ tho, which is a fun story to tell

So, this was a few years ago now, but I got conscripted for military service, and at that point you’re supposed to go to recruitment stuff, and medical evaluations and all that. At the medical check up they did a bunch of tests, eyes, feet, spine, heart, and so on, and then eventually it got to the psychological bit.
First was a go to the psychologist there, and it was all the standard stuff of fill out a questionnaire, then go in and talk to the psychologist about it, whatever. At the time I was pretty depressed, had a lot of anxiety, and also self harmed, which of course I answered without lying. They ask to see my SH scars, which I showed, and then they wrote some stuff down and sent me across the hall to talk to a psychiatrist, they again ask about the stuff I filled out, and eventually ask to see the scars, which I show, and they basically say “you don’t need to any more tests today, go to such and such mental hospital, say it’s for this military thing blah blah blah” and so on.
(I cut myself on my legs, so to this day that remains the only time a mental health professional has asked me to take off my pants)
Anywho I register to go there in a few days, and it’s much of the same process, talk to the psychologist, they ask about my life and parents and relationships (was kinda like a therapy session lol), talk to a psychiatrist, talk to the psychologist again… Eventually I get taken to another building, they tell me to wait while they fill some stuff out, then I got taken into the office to answer some questions in front of a bunch of doctors about myself and how I feel about the military service thing, and at the end they hand me a large sealed envelope to deliver to the military recruitment centre, which I do, and then im officially dismissed from the military :3.. and I got paid like 20 bucks or something like that for the day I was technically in the military lol
Just say you have adhd or some other ailment and require a lot of meds. For most of you that’s probably true. Hell, my medication pile is bigger than my meals.
They aren’t going to have a draft, they will just destroy the economy so young people have no other option but to volunteer for the military if they want to eat/feed their families.

Was in the Marines before, hated it and left to go to school. Would never think about joining back up. However I actually unironically would be willing to fight for California to be its own country, America is already on decline and society is fucked in general.
Aside from that maybe I’d expatriate and go to my mother’s home country in Central America and try to improve things there.

Autism Spectrum Disorders are actually a disqualifying factor, in particular, found in DoD Instruction 6130.03, Volume 1, Paragraph 6.28, Sub-paragraph C.
I’m pretty sure sure I don’t qualify. I have ADHD, Tourette’s, and I think I’m autistic. Not to mention that I may or may not be trans (I’ve considered it but I’m not really sure) and I think with all of those combined I would not be allowed

Many of them died and he thought it was a good thing. My son is autistic and I fell like this is something these evil pricks will do without hesitation.

Why dodge when you can frag?
Well, I’m disabled/neurodivergent. So really I technically shouldn’t be able to get drafted (I’m saying this with the knowledge I gained back when I wanted to join the Marines when I was 15 that the Military doesn’t usually enlist people with either autism or ADHD. And I have both. )
I still find it hard to believe it could happen, and certainly dont want to be proven wrong. Probably helps that I wouldn’t be eligible.
So the average person is out of shape, overweight, and knows nothing about the military or how to use weapons. Army boot camp may be only 10 weeks, but you have a very unready population and war has gotten much more complicated than it used to be. I find it hard to believe even the war-mongering fools currently running the us, would get us into something big enough and long-running enough for a draft to make a worthwhile difference.
Look at Iran. They might have started a never-ending war, but the approach is to sit back and bomb it. That won’t lead to a draft
Stepping back a bit, what about Iraq? That’s a bigger question since I don’t think we have the readiness to do that again, and it did require a ton of people. But they never instituted a draft, and the buildup was far too quick for one to be useful. … although that was also an international presence and the current regime is making sure that will never happen again

Look at everything he’s gone through to avoid a draft, despite getting his country bogged down starting an absolutely brutal war resulting in hundreds of thousands of Russians killed or maimed. We all make the agent krasnov jokes, but there’s far more in common from one tyrant to another than any of us like
