Catalonia lives forever within us

Explanation: Anarchist Catalonia was a short-lived polity that put into practice radical ideas of democratic decentralization and workers’ control of production. It performed well both economically and militarily during the Spanish Civil War; however, they were purged by their nominal allies in the Spanish Republic, who were dependent on Soviet aid (the Soviets did not much care for anarchists). The Spanish Republic would go on to lose the Spanish Civil War against the literal fucking fascists.
