Whenever I see images like this … I often wonder what ruins or artifacts we will leave behind for future civilizations to look at in 2,000 years.

Will they be as impressed by us as we are about the Romans?

Our ruins won’t hold up as well because our concrete is reinforced with steel. All concrete cracks, which means water eventually causes the rebar to rust, which in turn causes the concrete to spall. Roman (unreinforced) concrete structures have lasted thousands of years, but ours definitely won’t.

Ours are a lot cheaper to build, though.

This one is too close to the edge of the pillar….should we cut the other until it fits?

Nah! It will outlive our civilization according to my calculations!
