Oh nice, nvr played it but the heroes seem cool, might give it a roll.

It’s essentially a MOBA with first person hero shooter elements. The MOBA part didn’t speak to me, but I really really want to like this game.

The new game mode may tickle your fancy

Just checked it, didn’t play since Sep, 2024… I will install it this weekend and check out what game mode that may be.

Fun fact: Game requires 33.33 GB space… Half-Life 3 confirmed?

Looks interesting, especially the patron design. But the new heros look more like overwatch than deadlock too me, the faces look too pretty.

The new Orange Patrons voice and music is epic as hell!

Im so excited, Valve COOKED, I love the little blockhead minion on blue team and everything looks amazing. The only thing left on my wish list is a draft pick.

Im hype to play it but it seems like they broke everything and the game barely works

I’ve been playing since the minute the patch dropped and its been working fine

Anecdotal: but it plays just fine for me. FPS dips down when holding Tab mid match, but that’s it. Could be a Proton thing, though.

But, I have seen a team mate first land on the ground for match start and they were hard stuck in the ground, and had to ask enemies to kill them. And another couldn’t use the zipline for a minute or 2, but that might have been a keybind issue.

The new base Patrons, music, voice acting for base Patrons, and further adding more detail to the map are fantastic, though! This game’s sense of style is becoming really, really good.

I fiddled around for like half an hour and managed to get it working, no problems after that. I think it even ran smoother than it used to on startup.

I did see a bunch of people saying the camera wasnt working on street brawl in the discord community though while i was trying to get it to work

I agree though, the game looks so good now. Theres still a handful of areas that are a bit plain, but everything else looks great.

Street brawl is really fun

How can the game get updates when it’s not even released yet ???

Comments from other communities

The updated map screenshots look sick. Excited for new champs and rapid fire game mode. Initial reaction to the post seems like great updates all around - seriously looks like a major update.

2 new heroes per week is crazy scheduling, I wonder how big the full roster will be on release

Those new Patrons looks sickkkkkk.

Looks sick! Can’t wait to play it on my Steam Machine, while streaming it to my Steam Frame!

Looks sick! Can’t wait to play it on my Steam Machine

Too bad Valve do not support their own operating system and even Proton isn’t tested:

Deadlock in VR would be pretty sickening. I know I would lose my lunch after 5 minutes

I feel like I should try this out again, anyone got any tips for a quick start guide?

The first of Deathy’s new beginner guides is now up here.

Deathy has said he is working on a new/returning player’s guide for this update, so keep an eye on his channel. I think he’s one of the better educators around at the moment, particularly in terms of macro decision making (which can give you a big advantage when you’re new or playing in lower ranks). While you’re waiting for a more general guide, check out these videos from him:

In general, look for tutorials/guides/coaching sessions from December 2025 onwards, as there was a big rework to laning in late November that changed how you want to approach it.

The other two didn’t mention it, but you can play against bots with other real players. (If others are in the queue)

It’s not 100% representative of real matches, but the bots have above average AI, and you can take it easy without stressing about playing “optimally” right off the bat.

Streey Brawl is good, but it does get VERY hectic. If you don’t mind that, it’s a very fun mode that’ll drip feed you the items in the game.

I’ve played a bit of ’normal’ Deadlock before and I have to say that the new Brawl mode is even more chaotic than the regular mode. So I guess your best bet is just to hop into the game and play a couple of rounds, watch a random video on YT and then just jump into brawl, if that’s your jam. Probably best to learn just by playing.

There’s also some playground ingame where you can just toy around with different heroes and try them out.
