Fediverse community platform Bonfire launches, together with a crowdfunding campaign. Mastodon now officially quote posts, and a fediverse client for the Media Liberation Day campaign.
Bonfire social seems cool as fuck, but I wish I understood exactly what it is a little better-
Am I understanding right that its more fediverse building tools for folks who run instances? Or is it a platform like lemmy, mastodon, piefed? Both? Something else entirely?
It feels hard to pin down what it actually is 😅

Its a good idea so people dont have to reinvent the wheel, but we need to be very careful and make sure its not forcing the fediverse to become less open and less anonymous.
