“női” didn’t translate automatically. Manually looking it up, it says women’s/feminine/female/womanly/ladies’, so I just picked one that sort of fit. Sorry if it’s not exactly right.

Did she just manufacture a fight so he would buy her a hat?

Yeah, if so that’s a side of her I haven’t seen before. A vastly less-attractive side than her usual quirkiness.

I think the cleverness is on point, I’m more disappointed in the actual hat.

Meh, I wasn’t questioning the cleverness of it, but moreso the ethos.

(cue Walter Sobchak moment)

I admire any kind of person that knows how to get what they want.

… notice how that dude isn’t in many (any?) of the other panels we’ve seen of her?

Damn fine hustle.

That’s an interesting point, but it’s not 100% clear to me what Pusztai was exactly going for with a rotating cast of dates & BF’s. I.e. was she a serial gold-digger (or similar), or was it more a case of not wanting to limit it to just one or two, because then he’d have to become a main character, which is a common-as-dirt dilemma across all kinds of series.

Personally, I think the fact that absolutely everyone besides her is changing in the series tells the tale. Also, that the strip is in no way serial or story-based heavily tends to emphasize that. In the end, the other characters have no particular importance other than to make a quick joke work, and that’s them gone.

So… sure, I get your POV, I just personally haven’t really seen that behavior from her before, and judging by the votes, most others aren’t crazy about it either.

She seems to strike me as basically a clever, competent, libertine.

I wouldn’t class that as a gold digger.

A gold digger, imo, would be someone who basically leeches the max amount of money / stuff out of another, and then swaps to next when the first target is drained.

I don’t get the sense that she does that, seems more like she’s just bouncing around all over the place, thus could not be making any credible false promises nor false impressions of long term commitment.

To me, ‘libertine’ best matches the personality that she seems to have by way of the format of the comic strip: Everything is an opportunity to maximize entertainment/experience , not wealth.

Like uh, how many different kinds of jobs has she worked, haha?
