A fresh update is here! This release brings initial support for PieFed.
The PieFed API is still under development, so some features are limited, but here’s what’s new:
I like to keep an eye on every post in my comms and it is convenient to do so on browser with the moderator view.
I could just click every community I mod and go through it but this is just more convenient. Wondering if that could be worth adding.
I noticed in the settings that Boost is preconfigured to directly open URLs from certain instances. This functionality, however, does not extend to my private instance.
Basically title: there’s no audio on redgifs posts, but when I click through on the site itself I have audio (but their fullscreen experience is terrible now so that isn’t even a viable workaround atm)
At least for me. This has been a repeat thing for months but I never bothered to say or post anything. That being said, Boost is *the best* app for Lemmy as far as I’m concerned and I’ve been using it since the second Ruben launched it. Paid for it twice without any hesitation. Thank you so much for making my stay on lemmy a hell of a lot easier, smoother and just more enjoyable.
I’m on version 1.0.22 and tablet mode doesn’t seem to do anything any more. If I check or uncheck the box for tablet mode in Setting it looks the same (not split screen like before).
I have no idea if this is technically feasible within Lemmy’s current framework, but I was wondering - has Boost ever considered adding viewer counts (or “view metrics") to posts and comments on user profile pages?
I like being able to navigate Boost one-handed, and it’s convenient for me to swipe to close images. Sometimes, though, that swipe gesture is not fully recognized and the swipe-to-close function stops working for that image and I have to close it either with the back button or back arrow.
Pretty much as the title says, attempting to enter the comment section of any post closes the app after it tries to load, accompanied by the message below.
Lemmy keeps a global list of posts you’ve read on any device and the account preference can be used to “permanently” hide them. It’s really useful for faking the way Reddit reworked your homepage at one point, where it keeps feeding you new content every refresh without having to keep clicking “clear read” all the time. But if you then want to see those posts - because you clicked back on accident, want to see a pinnet post etc - you have to go to ´´Settings -> Account Preferences´´ to toggle it on/off there, save, come back, and manually refresh the page you were on.
Image is from a post in this community using this account. All comments on all posts when using my piefed.social account have a locked symbol next to them and give this “Locked by moderators” message if I try to reply. Replying to the post itself is fine and works without issue though. If I look at the same post from an account on another instance, I can see that the comments are not locked and can reply to them. Not sure if this is an issue with my account specifically or with Boost/piefed interaction, but it only started happening yesterday.
The current icon is exactly the same with boost for reddit. I think it would be nice if boost for lemmy had a (slightly) different icon, like a mirrored version or some changed colors (ex. Green rocket). It would help cause many of us still use the reddit app too. Also it would be easier to understand that this is a different app from the reddit one. :))
I'm a moderator on several communities and whenever there are reports that require my attention it would be great if I got notifications much like I do for DMs or comment replies
Some Lemmy instances let their users change what their name is displayed as while keeping their username. Some users do this to set up a name they would preferred to be called by.
When I write a post or comment via boost, I cannot select the language in which it was written. Since there are people on feddit.org who filter posts by language, posts created via boost are invisible.
For anyone still using Boost for Reddit, the latest revanced patch from wchill fixes the missing audio from redgif videos and adds the ability to restore some (not all) deleted content.
Using android keyboard users can easily search GIFs but get a notice the app doesn't support inserting them into comments. Would like to have this feature.
When being logged in from a piefed account (piefed.ca) I will see the correct number of replies but only be able to view a portion of them when I expand them. This does not occur when using a Lemmy account.

I'm quite sure that there is a show up/downvote percentage setting somewhere in one of the various settings pages in boost for lemmy. But I struggle to find it again - It must be there, no? Google is of no help, as it mumbles something about a reddit app with the same name.
Anyone else getting the rate limit? I'm on the pro version, but getting the rate limit error even when I haven't opened boost up all day. The links work fine but comments will cause a 429 error. Seems to just started happening after the piefed update.
G'day all. Been using Boost on Android for a while, pretty good, but the past 4-7 days, whenever I load All, it shows a page of posts, and on scrolling down it looks like it's requesting more posts, the loading bars go back and forth across the top, but no new posts load, and it finally gives a small toast popup saying "timedout".
I feel like I'm missing something here as I've tried searching for this answer. But does boost have infinite scrolling? And can you select instances anywhere?
New post don't seem to be loading after a first few post when viewing via All. I can get around this by using the guest account but ofcourse can't interact with anything at that point.
Title, all comments have the lock symbol beside the usernames, and we're unable to reply to them. Making a top-level comment still works. Instance doesn't matter, it's the same for all of them. Pls fix, this is pretty much a broken app until then.
hi there so today i launch boost and get jumpscared by ads playing with sound on by default. i don't mind ads playing muted, but the default being sound on is incredibly infuriating. is this a bug?
Everyone that has a lemmynsfw.com account need to head to link further down. For a few days pictures from other instances are not showing. First I thought it was issue with boast, but no. I had to basically create new account on lemmy.world to be able to view pictures at all.
Just tried to hide a post (don't like pictures of spiders) and it didn't disappear. It just sits there (like a gross spider) and the only difference is if I click on the menu it now has Unhide as an option. Which also doesn't visibly change anything.
I was just wondering if there was any intention of bringing an OLED friendly dark mode (like, just a pitch black background) to Boost for Lemmy? I'm pretty sure there was one on the Reddit version, and I've always preferred the aesthetic, although admittedly my battery goes further than it used to.
When using the in-app share button to share images, a file called "image_proxy" is shared, not the image itself. This started happening for me when I switched to lemmy.zip from lemm.ee - I just tested lemmy.zip in Thunder and it works as expected, so seems to be some combination of server+Boost causing the problem.
Hey all, new user to midwest.social as of today since lemm.ee is being shut down. After logging in to my new account I can't load my home pages (subscriptions) though I can view all, local, and individual communities. This is happening only for this username and across all lemmy clients, though I'm asking here since I'm not sure where else to ask if it's an issue with this server.
Hi all, I am not sure if I have changed something or an update broke it but last image I saved on the 19.06.2025 was working and I tried yesterday and it's not downloading the images. It says downloading and then it goes back to the top of my feed, and the image is not downloaded.
It would be really great if Boost could add a dedicated section to the sidebar for Moderated communities, either above or below Subscribed communities.
A lot of other apps allow for direct image copy when viewing, usually via a long-press menu option. This would permit images to be used in other applications without the need for the file to be downloaded or to navigate through 5 or 6 taps to share it directly to another app
Piefed is another instance type that is growing in popularity, and a few instances are now turning on the API. As such, apps are also implementing support.
Youtube links refuse to open in external browser, they always open on YouTube app, even though that's turned off and the app Is set to use external browser. I want my ad blocking please.
