A fun side project I've been working on looks back at research from 100, 150, and 200 years ago. Some stuff is well-known, others have been forgotten, and still others were never read at the time. If I've missed anything cool that you like, please share!

As of Thursday, April 10, 20 international students at the City University of New York (CUNY) have had their visas revoked by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Per a statement released by the university, they face a “change in visa status” — with no clear explanation. This attack follows the escalating situation at Columbia University where five visas and two green cards have been revoked so far.

America is witnessing an unprecedented series of attacks on higher education that commenced well before Donald Trump was re-elected, amid the contentious protests that followed Hamas’ attacks on Israel and Israel’s ruthless (and ongoing) retaliation on Gaza and its inhabitants.

They have already started to put down animals en masse. This is the tip of the iceberg. My sister says people were coming into her hairdressers crying who worked there over the animals. Cruelty and madness.

Never trust anyone that tries to erase the past to sell you a new future.

Leaders at a growing number of universities across the country say they are looking for ways to cut costs and buy time, as questions swirl around President Trump's efforts to slash financial support for some schools. Education experts say the pullback of resources will not only hurt current and prospective students, staff and faculty, but could also harm the local economies of university towns and ultimately make the U.S. less competitive globally.
